No more online easter egg hunts to find a good place to buy puzzles!
When I asked puzzlers around the world about difficulties in getting started with puzzling – I found something surprising – for many puzzlers the hardest thing was finding places to buy puzzles. They saw puzzles they liked in YouTube videos but never knew where to buy them.
That’s why I decided to compile the best puzzle shops in one place for you.
You can save this page to your browser if you want to be able to find which shop is the best for your next purchase, in any budget or puzzle type, in a matter of seconds.
I want you to know, dear reader, that some of the links in this post may be affiliate links (at the day of writing this – there are none). This doesn’t affect in any way the fact that I’ll only link you to the best places in my experience and knowledge, I promise.

Buying Mechanical Puzzles
Is not hard as you think. Like every other store on the internet, puzzle stores are accessible and secure and have great variety of puzzles available.
General Puzzle Stores
A great puzzle store I bought from a lot is Mr Puzzle Australia. Mr Puzzle, a.k.a Brian Young, is one of the best, most popular puzzle manufacturers in the world. He makes his puzzles from quality woods and pays enormous attention to detail, both inner and outer. This is why great designers have their designs built by him.
In his store, which is managed by his wife Sue, you’ll find a large variety of puzzles with competitive pricing, and even exclusive designs that sell only there. It’s a site you must know about as a puzzler.
A popular puzzle store in North America is PuzzleMaster*. On their site, you’ll find lots of mass-produced puzzles. Shipping from there may be slightly higher if you’re located on another continent, but for US and Canada residents, it’s a great option. At any rate, you can’t argue with the variety of great puzzles they sell.
Another online shop that gets recommended a lot but personally I didn’t happen to buy from is Crux Puzzles*. Their variety is slightly smaller, but they sell some really good puzzles on their site, that can be tricky to find elsewhere. Located in the UK.
There’s also a shop for magic lovers called JPGAMESltd. You’ll find high-quality puzzles from great designers and manufacturers there. They have a relatively small roster but it’s still worth knowing about.
Specific Puzzle Stores
There’s an online shop I literally grew up with, called Revomaze. Revomaze sells everything related to their puzzle; the Revomaze – unique puzzles of the Maze and Dexterity types (some venture to say they have Sequential Discovery in them, which I partly agree with) designed by the ingenious Chris Pitt. This series of puzzles is extremely challenging and best suited for experienced puzzlers. The enjoyment-time-per-money-spent of each Revomaze is fascinating, as the harder designs can take more than 100 hours to solve.
Edit – use the coupon code RevoWanderer to get 5% off your purchase at Revomaze!
An amazing shop for wood lovers would be Cubic Dissection, run by Eric Fuller. Eric is a long-time manufacturer that builds dazzling wooden puzzles and works with many great designers. His shop gets updates every month or so, with new puzzles and plans for the future, and he is always in touch with his customers.
Fuller’s puzzles are almost exclusively sold in this site, and the puzzle types you’ll find there are mainly Interlocking, Assembly, and Puzzle Boxes, most of them wooden, all of them neat.
Another great mechanical puzzle store is Pelikan, a Czech store where Jakub Dvorak sells his elegant wooden puzzle goods. Pelikan’s wood quality is always high, and they tend to use exotic European woods.
Also, his website is where you’ll find Jakub’s puzzles first and with the best prices before any other shop sells them. I really enjoy his works personally, so I check the site pretty often.
There’s a shop I’ve been thinking of since the start of this post, Karakuri Creation Group. In their shop you’ll find puzzle boxes – lots of exclusive designs, very rare and beautifully made. I have one Karakuri box, and it still amazes me how precise the mechanism is. The puzzles they sell are pretty high in the budget scale, generally, but even if that’s out of your budget, you should check out the wonderful designs on their page, you’ll be blown away. A shop for serious collectors.
Important Tips
Something worth knowing is that usually, the higher quality puzzles are of limited availability. This has some pros and some cons.
When you buy a high-quality puzzle, you know it’s rare and its value will hold as the years go by. So if for example, you’re in an economical pinch you’ll be able to monetize your puzzle with relative ease.
But also, there are certain puzzles, especially the more expensive and limited ones, that are so rare that puzzlers lose their hope of buying them.
And the solution the puzzle community came with in response to this problem is public auction websites.
In sites like these, i.e Puzzle Paradise, all transactions are public auctions by individuals looking to sell their puzzles. Even though it is a great way of obtaining rare, discontinued puzzles, it is, in my opinion, mainly suitable for collectors looking to complete their collection with specific designs.
If you aren’t a longtime, serious collector – I’d suggest trying these other sites I mentioned, because there you’ll be able to consistently get great value for your money.
More Useful Links
More great resources for your puzzle journey are all over social media (by the way, if you haven’t yet – follow us on Instagram and Facebook!)
Among social media resources, there are two that stand out. The Mechanical Puzzles Reddit, and the Mechanical Puzzles Discord.
Both these communities are overflowing with seasoned puzzlers and highly talented people willing to help anyone. Every day I learn something new from them and I invite you to join us, learn and get better.
One of my friends from the Mechanical Puzzles Discord picked up this hobby and in the insanely fast time of 3 months got so involved that he’s already got a more impressive collection than me – if you’d ask him, he’ll tell you that these communities helped him a great bunch.
