Cast Laby, as its told, comes from 19th century Britain. Apparently, they had a puzzle craze back then, which resulted in many puzzles we enjoy to this day. Nob Yoshigahara, the legendary designer of this puzzle, based the design on popular mazes from those times, and it is now available to common folk like us.
The Cast Laby is part of Hanayama’s legendary cast puzzle lineup. It’s made up of two interlocked rings. One’s a full circle with dual mazes etched into each side. The other one? A ring with two tiny pegs that you’ve gotta guide through both mazes at the same time. Yup, it’s a two-for-one brain workout.
It’s small, sleek, and feels amazing in your hands. But don’t let the smooth surface fool you. this one is meant to confuse you.
Hanayama Cast Laby – Difficulty
Hanayama officially rates it at a Level 5 out of 6, which means it’s for experienced solvers who like a proper grind. Some puzzle heads even claim it feels like a level 9 or 10 if you’re not familiar with dual-maze logic.
