Mittan Puzzle Box – a CAT Sequential Discovery Puzzle by Juno!

Welcome back, puzzle gang! Today I’m going to attempt to solve the Mittan puzzle by Junichi Yananose!! This is a wooden Japanese puzzle box with Sequential Discovery elements. Meaning there will be tools to find on the way and many secrets to uncover!

The goal is to find all the steps of the puzzle box and access a hidden compartment with a bell and a fish snack for the cat, Mittan.

Shoutout to my bro Tom Zakheym for the loaner 🙂

Junichi Yananose, or Juno is a highly-sought after puzzle designer, thanks to his intricate wooden works and limited edition productions.

I was lucky enough to try the Mittan Puzzle Box out – and WOW what a fantastic experience!

Smooth, beautiful and cute. And not easy at all to solve.

The Mittan Puzzle Box

The Mittan puzzle box is made of a combination of wooden parts and some metal ones.

The quality of material and finish are top-notch. You’ll notice it in seconds! The theme is also cute. My mom has like 10 cats at home, so she’d probably enjoy this puzzle if she tried it.

I always find that themed puzzles get more love, and for a reason – what’s cooler than having your favorite theme as a mentally-painful-puzzle that makes your gears shift?

Where to Buy The Mittan Puzzle Box?

Sadly, Juno’s puzzles are always produced in limited quantity. His shop is worth having your eyes on, occasionally. Although drops are pretty rare.

The other way you can get this puzzle is at Puzzle Paradise, which is an auction site. Beware, it would probably sell for A LOT.
