It’s time for some new puzzles! so here are my best recommendations for puzzles to buy, divided to cheap, fun, or challenging puzzles! Have fun!

Best Puzzles To Buy Online – Greg’s Puzzle Gift Guide

I compiled a list of some of the best puzzles you can buy online.

These are my recommendations for any kind of person who may enjoy them, and I focused here on the more widely available ones.

Hanayama Puzzles

A list like this can’t exist without mentioning the OG Hanayama Puzzles. Cheap metal puzzles with among the highest quality of finish for their price range. Every puzzle is chosen from the best designers in the world and mass-produced for everyone to enjoy.

Some of my favorites include Cast Loop, Cast U&U, and Cast Medallion.

Craighill Puzzles

Craighill makes beautiful metal puzzles. They’re all quite hefty and make for a beautiful premium gift. Some are harder than others – Like Wavelinks and the Jack Puzzle. But all of them are made in the highest quality a metal puzzle can achieve (At least that’s how I feel about them lol)

Packing Puzzles

I love packing puzzles. One of my favorite types, I find them especially appealing as a visual person. It’s quite hard to create a good packing puzzle, but there are quite a few neat packing puzzle creators like Yuu Asaka and the Creative Crafthouse.

I find that the best packing puzzles look easy at first. I like it when they’re made of a good material as well, because other than the spatial challenge, you want them to be a good playing experience, don’t you?

Revomaze Puzzles

A Revomaze is a highly unusual metal maze puzzle. I reviewed them in length here.

In 2024, Revomaze made A LOT of changes to their range, including rebranding to the Creative Workshop. If you do manage to get one today, and you can only buy one – Although not the easiest one, Bronze is a fan favorite (And I find it SUPERB)

Felix Ure Puzzles

Felix Ure makes INSANELY beautiful metal puzzles (I’m not shouting; they’re honestly out of the world in terms of beauty and craftsmanship)

They are higher on the range price-wise in this list, but they are among the most precise puzzles a single designer-manufacturer creates worldwide.

Minimalistic, slick, beautiful and heavy af. If you do have a higher budget to spend, I highly recommend the Piston puzzle.

If you want to challenge your giftee (and make them hate you a bit) – get them a Titan puzzle.

Escape Room In A Box Puzzles

It’s Exactly what you think – An Escape Room In A Box! These puzzle boxes are full of puzzle, clues and riddles.

My favorite 2 brands that create them so far are EscapeWelt and Idventure.

And if I have to choose one – I’d go with Idventure. Especially f your giftee is over 18. They’re more complicated, sequential, and overall better for experienced escape room lovers.

If you’re buying a present for a teen, then Escape Welt can work as a gift for them, since their boxes are more riddle-based.

Chess Puzzles For Chess Lovers

I’ve recently launched my own puzzle store, and I’ve got a few chess-based puzzles in stock!

These puzzles are made of a wooden base and 3d printed chess pieces. Your goal is different in every puzzle, and they make for a great coffee table puzzle, or for waiting rooms of sorts.
