In this quick review I’m talking about the Casino puzzle by Dr. Volker Latussek, a wooden 3D packing puzzle.
The object in Casino is to pack all 6 identical circles (chips) into the box. I know it sounds simple, but it isn’t just that.

Yo what is up guys it’s Greg. In today’s quick review we got a pretty popular puzzle.
Before I started my blog and channel I was content with playing with the usual puzzles that worked for me. But when I started writing, I realized – to provide the best insights, I should get out of my comfort zone.
Get out of my comfort zone to learn more about all kinds and types of puzzles for you guys. So I ordered this Casino puzzle – a 3D packing puzzle by Dr Volker Latussek.
I’ll show it to you in just a moment.

Casino by Dr. Volker Latussek
Casino is a 3D packing puzzle designed by Dr. Volker Latussek. This copy is made by Rombol.
The object of it is to pack all 6 identical circles into the box, but the box is half blocked so your moves are limited. You can’t just put them inside in any way you’d like.
Quality wise, this puzzle has good quality for it’s price of around 30 bucks. It’s made of Helvea and Samena woods.
Puzzling value wise, this puzzle is NUTS. Even though it looks very simple and easy, it really isn’t.
And even though the objective is fairly simple as well – packing 6 identical pieces inside the box *B-roll*- the solve is not just that!
The more you play with it, the more you will understand. Until all the pieces fall right into place……
It also got the Puzzle of the Year jury award AND the puzzlers’ award as the best puzzle In the 2018 International Puzzle Party.
Who Should Get Casino?
Casino is best for – Wanderers – beginner puzzlers.
It took me around 2 hours to figure it out, and it was my first puzzle of this sort. An awesome introduction to 3D packing puzzles, and I got so much satisfaction out of it.
It needs some patience. You’re not guaranteed to solve it in one sitting. Give it some time and it will feel great.
I do also think that Champions will really enjoy it. The challenge and beauty of the solve far outweigh the price so the value you’re getting out of it is amazing.
But maybe you don’t need to buy it!
