Cast Vortex Review (Worst Puzzle. Ever.)

For me puzzles are more than a hobby.

They are a tool to build a strong mindset, training your brain, and filling it with creativity.

And still this puzzle is an absolute disaster.
If I could change one thing in my life – I would delete this puzzle from existence.

If I could decide if I want to be born or not, knowing that I’ll try this puzzle – I’d rather not be born.

Because this puzzle is an absolute waste of space, of metal, of packaging, of time and of mental health.

This puzzle is a global disaster, and specialists agree with that.

This puzzle is:

Cast Vortex by Hanayama

A very difficult puzzle, perhaps one of the most difficult puzzles the Hanayama Cast series has to offer.

It consists of only three pieces but still I had it unsolved in my house for eight whole years!

SEVEN out of those eight were years where this puzzle was disassembled in my room.

This month I decided to take it with me to a trip around the world, and finally in Austria I defeated it.

When I solved this puzzle, even though it took me so long, I felt happy and satisfied for only one minute.

After that I felt disgusted.

This puzzle is an absolute piece of trash.

And I actually have 3 unbiased and very logical reasons why this puzzle is terrible and you should hear them. This is a Cast Vortex review, after all. I have to provide some logical facts here, don’t I?

3 Reasons Why Cast Vortex is Terrible

1 – the pieces are too complicated and confusing

you can’t really tell the difference between them or utilize them. Understanding them is extremely complex and difficult.

2 – there are too many possibilities

You have hundreds of possible moves but only three or four of them are neccessary to get to the final state which is stupid in my opinion because these dead ends just make this puzzle tormenting.

3 – this puzzle is way too rattly

If you put it in your bag for one hour it will probably unsolve itself or do some kind of moves. Basically every time you put it in your bag this puzzle just does its own shenanigansת and you have to start over every time you pull it out of your bag (which is extremely annoying).

This puzzle took me tens of hours all while feeling minimal to no progress until the very end, where I finally understood how the pieces should join each other in order for me to reach the assembled state.

No fun.

Puzzles are meant to be fun.

Even though they’re usually difficult and it’s fun that they’re difficult, this puzzle is plainly too difficult to be fun and too difficult to be a puzzle.

It’s not a good puzzle.

Sorry.

To be completely honest I’d rather chew grass than solve this puzzle again (I actually did in the video)

That’s it for the Cast Vortex review! If you actually want to see a good and replayable puzzle check out this post. Enjoy!
